The Summer Fun Run is Back!
Welcome back! Last year was the first year for the Summer Fun Run (SFR), a weekly tour of parks in the county for runners and walkers, and were excited to bring the program back. This year we're using the same basic format, the runs are held on Wednesday nights and rotate to a different park each week. Runners and walkers are welcome, and if Fido is good around people, feel free to bring him too, although leash rules do apply. Each week we will map out both a 1-mile and a 5-K course and you can run/walk each or both at your leisure. Registration begins at 6:30pm and lasts until 7:00pm, feel free to begin running as soon as your registered. At the registration table, we'll also review the course map with you. Lastly, and best of all, all runs are FREE, so come out and join in the fun!

2010 Tech Shirts
A favorite of last years run, we are bringing back the tech shirts! We can't offer them for free as we did last year but thanks to the Parks Foundation of Hendricks Count,tech shirts commemorating the 2010 SFR series are available at a great great low cost. Those who enroll as a member of the Parks Foundation of Hendricks County(For as little as $25) will receive two shirts free. Additional Shirts can be purchase for $15 each. See park staff at the events to become a member of the foundation, purchase shirts, or to receive more information.

Frequently Asked Questions?
Can I arrive early for the run?
Sure, we set up the courses to be ready at 6:30pm but if time is an issue show up early. However, we may not have the run maps available or staff at the registration table ready to go over the course with you.

Do I have to register?
No, but please do. We make registration quick and painless and it helps us understand the success of the program so we can plan to bring it back in future years and have the proper resources on hand. It won't take long, we promise!

What happens in the event of bad weather?
In most cases, that's up to you. If it's raining, the course will still be set up and ready if you'd like to run (providing the course is not in horrible condition). In the event of severe weather, tornado warnings, thunderstorms and the like, we will cancel the run. In the event a run is cancelled for any reason, we'll post the cancellation on the homepage of our web site, e-mail everyone in our database and post a message for all of our Facebook friends letting you know of the cancellation, which may happen as little as a half hour or so before the race. What is the cost?
Nada...nothing...zippo...It's free... Although feel free to make a donation to the Parks Foundation of Hendricks County if you'd like to see more parks and programs.

Can I bring my dog?
Sure, Fido is welcome but please keep him under control and please obey all park rules and leash laws.
