Scout groups have a great resource in McCloud Park! At the Park, you can participate in many of the programs that can fulfill badge requirements. The Park Naturalist and trained staff will lead the troop through fun games, activities and exercises that meet requirements outlined in the scouting handbooks. January 22nd at 2pm
Wildlife Badge Come to the Nature Center and learn about features and adaptations of different creatures, observe animal behavior, see how you can help wildlife and much more. Afterwards, take a walk exploring the habitats and animals that occupy the park. |

January 15th at 2pm
Naturalist Badge (Webelos Scouts)
The Naturalist badge requirements will be presented and scouts will learn the importance of education and preservation in protecting plants and animals. Scouts will also learn about some of the poisonous plants and venomous animals that make their home in Indiana. |

February 26th at 2pm
Finding Your Way Badge The Finding Your Way Badge requirements include instruction on how to use a map and how to mark or interpret trail markers in the wilderness. Scouts will learn about different types of maps and how they are suited for various purposes. |

February 19th at 2pm
Forester Badge (Webelos)
Reserve your spot to fulfill the requirements for the Forester badge and learn how to read tree rings to determine the health and history of a tree. Scouts will also learn about the different types of forests in the United States and the role that fire plays in maintaining a healthy ecosystem. |

March 25th at 2pm
Earth Connections Badge The Earth Connections program will help scouts understand the relationship between plants and animals in the ecosystem. Scouts will learn how to identify common trees as well as analyze tree rings to determine the health and age of a tree. |

March 18th at 2pm
Lets Go Outdoors (Tigers) Let’s Go Outdoors badge requirements encourage participants to use their five senses to describe the weather. Scouts will also take a nature hike, collect leaves for a leaf rubbing, learn how to identify a tree by its leaves and enjoy a visit to our nature center. |

April 29th at 2pm
Rocks Rock Badge Badge requirements will be presented for scouts identifying major types of rocks, observing weathering and erosion processes and learning how fossils are formed. |

April 22nd at 2pm
Scientist Badge (Webelos) We will meet the requirements for the Scientist badge as we perform simple experiments and explain them in terms of basic scientific principles. Topics covered include Bernoulli’s Principle, Newton’s Laws of Motion, Pascal’s Law and more. |
