Featured Artists: Brent & Rene Lacy

Having been raised in rural communities in our early years we have both developed a life long interest and appreciation for nature. For Brent this was enhanced when he was in Scouts and for Rene while she was in 4H participating in Entomology. Prior to graduating from high school Rene also participated in a 5 week program with the Youth Conservation Corp which worked with the Rangers of the Forestry Service preparing skiing and hiking trails, marking trees for selective cutting, and clearing brush along stream beds to aid in the spawning of salmon.

For several years we have both dabbled in taking photos, mostly casual shots. In 2007 our interest in photography was renewed when the Indiana Department of Natural Resources announced it was organizing a photo contest of Indiana Wetlands for a calendar. As a result of this we were able to combine several very well suited interests that we both thoroughly enjoy and continue to actively participate in today.

We would like to offer a sincere thank you to the staff and volunteers at McCloud. We commend their efforts in restoring and preserving our Environment. As an expression of our appreciation we will donate 20% of each sale to the park. We also offer them our thanks for inviting us once again to present our art to the public in such a fitting setting.

Sincerely,
Brent & Rene
